Begining in 1846 the original name of the city of Brownsville was Calapooya, named after the Kalapuya Indians. Located in Linn County it's a great small town with lots of history plus convenient access to I-5 and the Cascades. Brownsville was the setting for the scenes from the movie "Stand By Me".
