Roseburg was settled in the mid 1800's and named in 1857 now is the Douglas county seat. While it's motto is "The Timber Capital of the World" it's location on the Umpqua river is very picturesque. The economic base has been growing and major employers are creating a favorable environment for living and taking full advantage it the fabulous recreational activities in the hundred valleys of the Umpqua.
