The Winston-Dillard area was first settled in the mid 1800's and was a slow growing community but in a beautiful part of Oregon. This area of the state was best know for it's amazing timber production and lumber industry. However, in 1972 something very different and sort of wild arrived on a 600 acre parcel of land just outside of town. Wildlife Safari is a non-profit zoological park dedicated to conservation, education and research. You can view over 500 animals in their natural habitat by driving through the park on a 4.5 mile road. Check out their website and come see for yourself.
